Time to reflect, research & plan

Business, Technology, Seeds Growers

“In winter, I plot and plan. In spring, I move”

— Henry Rollins

In the Winter, it is a good time for seed growers and agricultural farmers to:

  • Reflect
  • Research
  • Plan

Winter is the perfect time of year to reflect on the past season and review records of seed and crop growing. Winter days can be spent pouring over data from the previous year, calculating yields, projecting sales, researching new varieties, ordering new seeds and mapping out fields for the coming year.

You might be wanting to look at what went well, what grew well, what didn’t grow so well, what did you need more of, what did you have too much of, which treatments were successful and which crops and seeds did your customers ask for etc.

It’s unlikely that your memory will provide you with the most reliable information and good record keeping is key to being able to easily assess the business and make informed decisions.

This reflection period will help you make changes and focus on what is important for next year.
